Our Story

Barron Heating was founded in 1972 by my grandparents, Dan and Vivian Barron. What began as a small, family-run business has grown into a trusted, family-owned and operated trades company proudly serving Northwest Washington.

Grandpa Dan began his career in the trades in the early 1950s, apprenticing as the son of a journeyman sheet metal working. After years of hard work, he and Grandma Vivian took a leap of faith and started Barron Heating in Whatcom County. In those early days, the family garage was the shop and the kitchen table was the office - humble beginnings that shaped the passion and heart of our company today.

My father, John Barron, later joined the business, carrying forward that vision, and eventually taking ownership. Under his leadership, Barron continued to expand its services and strengthen its reputation for quality and care. Today, I'm honored to continue that legacy as CEO. With HVAC at our core and expanded services, including plumbing, electrical, solar, and more, our team members proudly serve communitites across the PNW.

(bright music) - I think a lot of customers, when they're looking at their house, don't realize how connected all of their systems are. You have HVAC, you have electrical, plumbing, and although those are three different trades, they're very connected in a home. At Barron, we call that the whole home approach. So we don't just tackle one of the different trades, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, we go after all three so that the customer, at the end of the day, has the ultimate comfort, the ultimate health, and the ultimate energy in their home. We want to be able to go into the home and educate a customer about home performance. We can have those conversations that may be difficult because they don't understand that heating equipment, that cooling equipment, that electrical or plumbing piece of equipment, having a conversation with a customer and educating them about the different options that we have. Back in 1972, my grandpa Dan, was building new construction homes. He was putting in the HVAC systems and the fireplaces, and so that was our origin. We were looking at just the Sudden Valley area of Bellingham. Fast forward 53 years later, we now cover all of Whatcom County, Skagit County, Island County, the north part of Snohomish County, and we have a home base as well in the San Juans and Orcas Island. Barron has had some form of a membership program since the start. Our WholeHome membership is a plan to cover all your home's essential systems. It gets you priority service and scheduling, no overtime fees, and includes annual inspections to ensure peace of mind. Members are also protected by our lifetime parts guarantee. If a part we install fails, we'll make it right at no cost to you.
