Meet the Team
Dan M.
Barron Technician School
Lead Instructor
In his previous life, Dan served in the U.S. Marine Corps—a job that instilled him with the discipline and hard-working mentality that has built his career in the HVAC industry. Since diving into the HVAC field in 2003, he has grown an impressive portfolio of degrees, licenses, memberships, and certifications, including an Associate’s in HVAC, WA State 06A Electrician and 01 Electrical Administrator licenses, EPA Universal and NATE proctor certifications, and more. He also served on the BTC HVAC/R Technical Advisory Board as well as the WA State Technical Advisory Committee, where he helped to develop laws/code for RCW-WAC. Dan’s path at Barron led him from management in technical services to the development of the Barron Technician School, where he now serves as a full-time training instructor. From Portland and the Oregon Beaches to a now Ferndale-local, he has resided in our Northwest corner of the country for most of his life. Dan is an avid DIY-er, spending most weekends on a home project or two. He loves exploring, fishing, spending time with his family, attending country music concerts, and tropical beaches (ahhhh).
Brooke B.
WA State Certified Teacher
BTS Curriculum Developer
Brooke’s big smile is hard to miss, but her smarts are even bigger. She joined the Barron team in 2021, bringing along her background of teaching and the sciences with a Bachelor’s in Biology, Master’s in Teaching, and experience as a Washington State Certified Science Teacher. Brooke served in administration and advisory boards prior to coming to Barron and taught middle and upper-level science in Seattle and Mount Vernon. She developed curriculum and took part in program planning while teaching a wide range of science subjects including biology, physical science, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and physiology. As the Team Development Manager at Barron and a spearhead in the development and operations of the Barron Technician School, she is a natural leader and works well with people of all walks of life. A Bellingham native, she loves spending time with her family—playing outside, going on walks, and in true Northwest style (and busy mom of three boys)…coffee!
Jeff M.
Lead Fireplace Service Technician
BTS Fireplace Instructor
Jeff is one of the wise at Barron, with loads of experience to share. With Barron since 1999, he serves as a lead fireplace service technician, with the bulk of his own learning having come from time on the job. Jeff is a leader in the BTS classroom, teaching Barron’s newest service techs about gas fireplace repair and how to troubleshoot in the field. And whether it’s in the field or on the farm, he’s no stranger to hard work. Jeff grew up on a dairy farm in north county, where he spent the bulk of his days until college. Nowadays he loves to attend UW football games (Go Dawgs!) spend time with his wife, family, and friends, and read—Ivan Doig is his fave.
Lane A.
Senior Residential Service Technician
BTS Field Instructor
Lane’s a local here in Whatcom County, and one of our topnotch service techs at Barron. He’s been with us since 2014, and his tenure has proved him a natural fit to help train BTS students in the field and provide support after graduation. He’s also a pretty fun guy—he spends his weekend socializing, exploring, weightlifting, snowboarding, and going on walks with his dog, plus playing video games, watching UFC fights, and listening to live music—we’ll tag along anytime, Lane!
